Inspire And Motivate Yourself!

Self-help is available at every corner you turn and you may not even realize it. The first thing you should do is make a list of self-help topics that interest you the most or you have inquired about in the past.

These should be topics you have at least some interest in and are willing to invest a little time learning. It may be helpful to start with your own interests.
For example, if you’re interested in writing, sports, finances, weight loss, etc… is a good place for you to start.

What self-help areas are you presently in at the moment?

Let’s say you are interested in losing weight. Maybe you have recently joined a fitness center and have been helping yourself lose weight daily. Maybe you’re interested in writing?

Always make a list of self-help topics you enjoy and you want to overcome and defy the odds. Maybe you are broke and want to overcome your debt. Reading a financial management book to help control your assets may be the best investment of your life. Your family and friends may not believe you can overcome your debt problems, but by believing in yourself and accepting the challenge hands on - should enable you to easily overcome your problems.

Just have patience and confidence in yourself. Confidence and a willingness to learn are the keys to overcoming any challenge. Have patience and be willing to accept self-help can be a major factor to anyone’s success.

I wish you the best of luck in your future career path!

What Is Personal Empowerment?

Personal empowerment, what does it mean to you? Achieving it is simply developing your abilities to influence events and people around you.

Taking control of your life or a particular part of your life where you want to make an impact...

Some individuals may have a sense of it more in a community or global arena. This would be organized empowerment, where they take up arms so to speak to influence a community, a local or national government; maybe address a global issue.

Personal empowerment is more intimate; not necessarily organized in the previous examples. It could be something in our lives we want to address, perhaps we think of it more as personal growth.

It might be career driven or even something of a spiritual nature. In the work force you might want to create a new you to feel better about yourself, to reach a new goal. Typically you might embellish your persona and try to play the part.

Personal empowerment is in knowing you are the person you want to be beyond the façade you’ve created. An example of this might be having a desire to move up into management. Sometimes it is the difference between thinking and knowing something about you.
For instance you could say to yourself “I think I can manage”; where as if you were empowered you would have the ability to say “I know I can manage”.

Individuals seek empowerment resources for any number of reasons. It could be to seek career advancement; work on a failing relationship; become a better parent; or get out of debt. In medical and psychological cases you might be trying to correct a bad habit; or overcome a learning or medical disability.

Whatever your need, the result will transition you to the place you need to be to address these issues...

Personal Empowerment Is A Real Solution

Unfortunately it might come off as either egocentric or maybe New Age; however it is actually a crucial element to our being. It enables us to stand up for ourselves and others. Through it we can achieve a sense of responsibility and hold ourselves accountable. It is meant to make us better individuals.

The health profession uses personal empowerment in a number of instances. There is a disability or recovery model used to implement personal empowerment. These models are used for individuals with mental illness or individuals recovering from rape or other traumatic stress.

We might not think of empowerment as being an essential part of our being but if we consider our actions and the actions of others it would be obvious to us that it is a part of all beings. We empower our children and family members; we empower our employees. It is a natural nurturing thing to do.
We tell ourselves to eat healthy, exercise, and gain knowledge; but we don’t recognize our actions as personal empowerment. It’s possible you’ve been unaware of this till now. Welcome to the club...

Mind Power

Your Mind Energy

We must know what we are, before we can fully use what we possess. When we proceed to apply the forces within us, we find 3 fields of action.

- The 1st is the conscious field, the field in which the mind acts when we are awake.

- The 2nd field is the subconscious, that field in which the mind acts when it goes beneath consciousness.

- The 3rd field is the super-conscious, the field in which the mind acts when it touches the upper realm, and it is when acting in this field that we gain real power and real inspiration.

To know how to act in this super-conscious field is therefore highly important, even though the idea may at first sight seem to be vague and somewhat mystical.

We are constantly in touch, with the super-conscious whether we know it or not. And we frequently enter this super-conscious, for instance…

- When we listen to inspiring music
- When we witness a nice and quite scene in nature
- When we read some book that touches the finer intellect
- When we listen to someone who speaks from the inner throne of authority

We also touch the super-conscious when we are carried away with, or by some tremendous ambition...

Therefore if you want to understand and apply all the forces you possess, you must train the mind to act through the super-conscious as well as the conscious and the subconscious.

It is when we combine mental action in the conscious, subconscious and super-conscious, that we get the results we desire. In brief, it is the full use of all the forces in mind through all the channels of expression that leads to the highest attainment and the greatest achievements.

Generally speaking we may say that the power of the mind is the sum-total of all the forces of the mental world including those forces that are employed in the process of thinking.

The power of mind includes the power of the will, the power of desire, the power of feeling, and the power of thought. It includes conscious action in all its phases and subconscious action in all its phases – in fact it includes anything and everything that is placed in action through the mind by the mind or in the mind.

To use the full power of your mind the first essential step is to direct every mental action toward the goal in view, and this direction must not be only occasional but constant!

Most minds however do not apply this law. They think about a certain thing one moment and about something else the next moment...

When you think of yourself, do not only think of that part of yourself that appears on the surface. That part is the smaller part and the lesser should not be pictured in mind. Think of your larger self, the immense subconscious self that is limitless in both power and possibility. Believe in yourself not just in a part of yourself.

Give constant recognition to all that is in you, and in that all have full belief and confidence - as in using the power of the mind, the deeper the action of thought, will and desire the greater the result.

In defining the subconscious mind, it is first necessary to state that it is not a separate mind. There are not two minds. There is only one mind, but it has two phases the conscious and the subconscious.

We should think of the subconscious as a finer mental force, having distinct powers, functions and possibilities, or as a great mental sea of life, energy and power, the force and capacity of which has never been measured. The conscious mind is on the surface, and therefore we act through the conscious mind whenever mental action moves through the surface of thought, will or desire.

But whenever we enter deeper mental action, we touch the subconscious, though we must remember that it does not become oblivious to the conscious every time we touch the subconscious, as the two are inseparable and united as one.

Being super-conscious means having achieved the middle point between consciousness and subconsciousness. It means a mind that has far greater ability and power then normal.

Your Subconscious Power

By studying the powers of the mind both conscious and subconscious, we come to the realization that if we only knew how to use these powers, we could accomplish practically anything we have set firm in our view.

Not only would we receive our wants and desires to the fullest degree, but also reach even our highest goals.

The first time we hear this it seems to be a strong statement, nevertheless when we examine the whole nature of our-selves we are compelled to admit that it is indeed true even in its fullest sense, and that not a single individual can fail to realize his or her wants and reach their goals.

All you must do is simply learn how to use the powers that are within you...

This is not mere speculation or fantasy. The more we study the lives of people who have achieved great things in life, and the more we study our own experience every day, the more convinced we become that there is no reason AT ALL why any individual should not realize all his or her ambitions and much more.

Your Subconscious Mind Is Infinite

Out of it all ideas, impulses and feelings you need to know will come to you. Remember there is nothing hidden that shall not be revealed to you.

Your Conscious Mind Is The Intelligent Recognition Of Self

These words will be read by your conscious mind. Your conscious mind is positive in its relation to the subconscious mind and controls your thoughts through desires, and literally builds into your subconscious mind “that of which you think about the most”.

For instance if you think you are lacking, in lets say courage, or any other quality of the mind, by dwelling in thoughts of courage, or the other lacking qualities, through repeating the word which to you is simply a symbol of that thought, you will attract to your subconscious the element or quality most desired

By doing this you also build up your personality, thereby insuring success in all aspects of your life…

Your subconscious mind has no choice of its own and acts on suggestions from your conscious mind. If you say, "I cannot do this or that," the subconscious mind receives the suggestion, absorbs it, and it then becomes a part of you.

If you use autosuggestion to impress upon your subconscious mind the thought that you can and will, then success will surely follow. You must train the mind to feel that you CAN, and it will in turn sustain you whenever you feel discouraged.

The True Importance of Affirmations

Most people have heard of affirmations before. They may have even heard that affirmations are the foundation for many self-improvement techniques...

Yet, despite of this, very few people actually use affirmations. Are you one of them?

Affirmations are important, but often overlooked when people set out on a new path of self-improvement. This is quite a shame because affirmations can have a transformative effect on your life and your goals. Without the proper use of affirmations, you may find yourself going around in circles in your progress.

Affirmations are defined as positive declarations, statements or judgments...

When you state an affirmation, you declare that statement as being true. Affirmations work best when they are used on a consistent basis, preferably daily. It is also suggested that you phrase your affirmations in the present tense and use positive words.

Affirmations that use the words “don’t” and other negative terms are counterproductive. So instead of affirming “I don’t want these bills” you would affirm “I have plenty of money for all of my needs.”

Many people resist using affirmations because they can’t understand how repeating phrases again and again will change their lives. If you fit into this category, you may not understand how the process of affirmations works.

Affirmations are just one piece of the puzzle when it comes to self-improvement. When you set out to make big changes in the course of your life, whether it is financial, physical, emotional or spiritual, you set goals for yourself.

These goals are results that you’d like to see take place in your life. You may want a better career, a fulfilling relationship, more money in the bank or a closer spiritual connection. These are all results that you can achieve -but you have to remember that they are just results.

Results can’t come without the rest of the process...

The results you are experiencing in your life right now stem from your previous thoughts, feelings and actions. So in order to change your results, you need to change your thoughts, feelings and actions. The first key in the process is changing your thoughts (which leads to changes in your feelings and actions). The best way to transform your thoughts is to use affirmations.

Your “internal monologue” has a profound impact upon your life. Your thoughts frame the way you experience events and relationships around you. If you are a pessimistic person and are consistently looking for the worst in everything and everyone, your feelings and actions will follow in that same line.

Self-improvement, of any type, requires that you change the way that you are thinking. Your negative thoughts didn’t come out of the blue. You are just acting out of habit as a result from repeating negative thought patterns again and again. Affirmations, and their repeated use, will help to break your negative thinking habit.

When you use affirmations consistently, your thoughts, moods and actions will begin to change...

If you think of achieving self-improvement success as someone trying to hit a target with an arrow, then affirmations are the targeting part of that process. If the archer doesn’t take the time to line up the arrow and the bow correctly, his or her shot will miss.

Affirmations help you target your feelings and actions so you can get the results that you want.

Your 7 Days Program To Self-Improvement

There are many ways to lose your sense of self-esteem despite of how trivial it could get. But whatever happens, we should try to never lose our own sense of self…

So what does it take to be a cut above the rest? Here are some of the things you can think and improve on which should be enough for a full week.

1… Always Know Your Purpose

Are you wandering through life with little direction - hoping that you'll find happiness, health and prosperity?

Identify your life purpose or mission statement and you will have your own unique compass which will lead you to your true north every time.

This may seem tricky at first, even more so if you see yourself to be in a tight or even dead end situation.

But there's always that little loophole to turn things around and you should always carry on no matter what – this alone can make a big difference towards your situation.

2… Always Know Your Values

What do you value most? Make a list of your top 5 values… some examples are security, freedom, family, helping others, self-improvement, learning etc…

As you set your goals for 2006 – check your goals against your values. If the goal doesn’t align with any of your top five values – you may want to reconsider it or make a few revisions to it.

The number of goals you may have shouldn’t discourage you; instead it should motivate you to do the best that you can, and attain more than you ever dreamed of.

3… Always Know Your Needs

Unmet needs can keep you from living happily. Take care of yourself. Do you have a need to be acknowledged, to be right, to be in control, to be loved?

There are so many people who lived their lives without realizing their dreams and most of them end up being stressed or even depressed for that matter.

List your top four needs and get them met before it’s too late!

4… Always Know Your Passions

You know who you are and what you truly enjoy in life. Obstacles like doubt and lack of enthusiasm will only hinder you, but will not derail your chance to become the person you ought to be.

Express yourself and honor the people who has inspired you to become the very person you wanted to be.

5… Always Live From The Inside Out

Increase your awareness of your inner wisdom by regularly reflecting in silence.

Commune with nature. Breathe deeply to quiet your distracted mind. For most of us city slickers it’s hard to even find the peace and quiet we want even in our own home.

You could try sitting in a dimly lit room and play some of your favorite music.

There’s sound, yes, but music does soothe us at times.

6… Always Honor Your Strengths

What are your positive traits? What special talents do you have? List three – if you get stuck, ask those closest to you to help identify them for you.

Are you creative, witty, easy going, good with your hands?

Find ways to express your authentic self through your strengths. You can increase your self-confidence when you can share what you know with others…

7… Always Try To Help Or Serve Others

When you are true to who you are, living your purpose and giving of your talents to the world around you, you give back in service what you came to share with others…

The gains for sharing your gift with those close to you are indeed rewarding, much more if it were to be the eyes of a stranger who can fully appreciate what you have done for them.

Self-improvement is indeed one type of work that is worth it. It shouldn't always be within the confines of an office building, or maybe in the four corners of your own room…

The difference lies within ourselves and how much we want to change for the better.
